The Casa catalpa (extended care)
Our younger primary children (3-4 year olds) have the option of attending The Casa after their day at school finishes at 11:30. Children begin with playtime and lunch which is followed by resting and nap time. The afternoon is filled with activities that the children choose individually and in small groups. Group activities include cooking projects, arts and crafts, games and imaginative play. This setting allows young children an opportunity to cement friendships and work on their social skills. Some older Primary children (ages 5-6) join their younger friends at The Casa from 3:15 - 5:30.
The Casa is staffed by Amy Rautmann and Beth Barber. Amy holds a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin and is A.M.S. certified at the 3-6 level from the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Deerfield, Illinois. Beth holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Calvin College and her A.M.S. 3-6 credential. Amy and Beth are assisted by Liv DeJonghe and Matt DiMambro.
Parents may opt for 3:15 or 5:30 pick-up.
The Casa is also open during the summer.
